Bathroom Remodeling GreatFalls, VA

The idea behind having a separate vanity outside of shower area is dated. With this fully customized bathroom we incorporated the entire master bathroom as one unit. By removing the wall separating the old bathroom from vanity area allowed the room to really grow in size.

1 – REMOVAL/DEMOLITION:

We removed the wall separating the vanity & toilet/shower area. The angled header above the existing shower was removed. All other bathroom components were removed.

2 – PREPARATION:

Framed in for new French doors leading from master bedroom to new bathroom. Screwed down sub floor to floor joists. Installed ½” cement boards on bathroom floor & shower walls. Framed in for shower angled bench. Installed recessed niches in shower for storage. Prepared all existing walls & ceiling for painting (mudded & sanded protrusion points), replaced drywall/mudded/sanded all areas that were demolished and rebuilt.

3 – PLUMBING

Added plumbing line for another vanity sink, so homeowners would have (2) sinks not (1). Moved plumbing lines for toilet to be moved closer to wall, allowing for a longer vanity with makeup station. Installed new shower valve cast brass. Installed shower floor membrane and mud shower base which was sloped for drainage and shower floor tile installation.

4 – ELECTRICAL:

Installed (6) 90 watt 38 par flood recessed lights with a dimmer. Installed a fan light & night light unit on a three-switch configuration.

5 – FLOOR TILE:

Installed 12”x12” white carrara at a 1/8” grout line on bathroom floor with broken joint/brick lay. Installed a marble threshold between master bedroom and master bathroom to transition tile to hardwood. Intalled 3”x6” glass tiles (two color combination) for vanity backslash up to bottom of windows. Installed marble baseboards. Installed 12”x24” white carrara with a horizontal brick lay/broken joint lay with a transition double boarder of 6”x6” marble tiles. Installed mosaic 1”x1” glass tiles that pull with the vanity backsplash color of tiles. Installed 6”x6”marble tiles on shower floor. Ad-mix used with grout to ensure color continuity by treating grout throughout to be anti stain/ anti mold resistant, and commercial grade natural stone sealer.

6 – VANITY CABINETS:

Installed espresso shaker door & slab drawer configuration with makeup station, and (2) sets of 3 drawer set units. All plywood grade vanity with dove tail drawers.

7 – QUARTZ 2CM SILESTONE COUNTERTOP:

Installed quartz top with (2) under mount oval bowls, and custom curve for makeup station area. Quarter round edge detail.

8 – BATHROOM HARDWARE:

Installed (2) gooseneck chrome faucets, installed chrome French door hinges & handles, installed stainless steel mirrored inside & out medicine cabinet with glass shelves, installed chrome towel bar, installed chrome rob hooks, install chrome ebbe square drain, installed chrome handheld with rod & elbow with main diverted chrome shower head, and installed semi-frameless glass shower door with c-pull chrome handles.
